The Potting mix, being essential to plant requires a delicate consideration. The factors to consider are obviously cost and benefit.
Using locally available materials brings down the cost while not trading as much of quality away. This is usually a good deal!
Potting while being geared towards the species and genus that they will grow, should also pay attention to requirements of local climate
and adjust accordingly.

After a long time spent considering it, we finally changed our potting mix. Last time we did this was around 3 years back in 2015!
At that time we had switched to using more gravel and sand in the mix. This time we have added 3 new ingredients.
