Description
Aloe vera is a hardy succulent semi-tropical genus of plant which is native to North Africa and the SW Arabian Peninsula, but at the present time can almost be found worldwide. It’s a very tough genus which will grow in poor soil and hot, dry sunny locations, but can also be grown as an indoor plant near a window with bright natural light.
Aloe vera var. chinensis (Berger): The medicinal aloe similar to the well-known Aloe vera, but with shorter leaves that tend to be marked with white spots. The leaves are also lined with gentle white teeth and contain a soothing gel. The plant can grow to about 18.0″ tall and produce pale orange, tubular flowers in spring and summer.
